TESSERA Project

TESSERA's Participation in the Final LAGO Workshop

On 3 April 2025, TESSERA participated in the Final LAGO Workshop, hosted in Palermo by Polizia di Stato with the support of the Directorate-General for Migration and Home Affairs (DG HOME). The event marked the conclusion of 30 months of research, development, and collaboration on the LAGO Research Data Ecosystem (RDE), bringing together a wide community of law enforcement agencies, researchers, policymakers, and industry stakeholders.

The workshop presented the RDE’s architecture, tools for co-creation and risk assessment, and its potential to advance security research in the European Union. Discussions and presentations highlighted key themes such as sustainability, legal frameworks, and cross-project collaboration, underlining both the project’s achievements and its lasting impact.

TESSERA contributed to the workshop with a dedicated presentation, outlining the project’s progress and strategic focus on the development of high-quality, large-scale, trusted datasets. These datasets are conceived as a foundational element for the envisioned EU Security Data Space for Innovation, supporting the training and validation of AI solutions for law enforcement, while rigorously adhering to privacy, legal, and ethical standards.

By participating in the event, TESSERA engaged in broader discussions on data governance in security research, promoted knowledge exchange, and strengthened synergies across related initiatives. This contribution reflects TESSERA’s commitment to advancing European capabilities in secure, ethical, and innovative data-driven solutions for law enforcement and security stakeholders.
